Really impressed I can say “Let`s get to know Vanina Walsh”, this rad young CHIXX took some time to talk with us about her exiting live as a pro Surfer. Growing up in a place we european call “The dream land”, she progresses her self every day and already is able to spread a vibe we can`t really catch. Vanina is born and raised in Hawaii, just a few minutes away from the ocean she got into surfing in aged of 8! To actually live the dream, she spends as much time as possible on any kind of Board and that’s what impresses us a lot!

HI VANINA, HOW DID EVERYTHING STARTED FOR YOU WITH SURFING?

I first began surfing at Waikiki at the age of 9 and instantly fell in love with the sport. Surfing soon became a big part of my life and I began competing in small surf events and surfed my first professional surf contest at the age of 12.

YOU ARE STILL VERY YOUNG, WHO GAVE YOU THE MOST SUPPORT TO GROW INTO A PRO SURFER?

My parents and my sponsors supported me and helped me become successful in surfing. I Wouldn’t be where I am today without all of their help.

YOU LIVE IN HAWAII A DREAM PLACE FOR ALL OF US, WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT YOUR HOME SPOT?

I am so fortunate to grow up in Arizona and moved to Hawaii when I was 9 years oldin. My favorite thing about growing up in Hawaii is that the ocean is truly our playground. We don’t grow up with video games and television, we find our joy playing in the ocean and surfing waves.

YOUR PROGRESSION IS GOING HIGHER AND HIGHER, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS?

I see myself continuing to spread the surf culture and aloha as I travel to new places. I also see myself working on growing my swimwear line ‘Vanina Collection’ which will be launching this year.

SOON WE WILL SEE YOUR OWN CLOTHING COLLECTION, HOW DID YOU GOT TO THAT IDEA TO CREATE YOUR OWN COLLECTION?

I have always loved painting and sewing and my fans suggested that I should start designing my own swimwear since It was something I already loved to do. So these past two years I have been working on fabric and swimwear designs.

WHAT DOES SURFING MEAN TO YOU?

Surfing to me is something that has always been there for me. I can go out in the water and forget about anything that is bothering me on land. It is a way to clear my mind of any negativity while getting great exercise and having fun with friends.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE TO DO BESIDES SURFING?

Besides surfing I love to be with friends, paint, sew and work on my swimwear line.

DO YOU MIGHT HAVE A HINT FOR THE CHIXXS OUT THERE?

A hint of advice from me to girls out there is to have fun and be confident in whatever you decide to do.
